The correspondence refers to Campbell's project of writing the Life of Mrs. Siddons. Anna Jameson also had wanted to write a Life and the letters discuss the misunderstanding that arose between them. Also on (p. 103) the proof of a newspaper article describing the circumstances in which the Life was written, [1844?].
